Bengals vs. Bills Prediction: Odds, Expert Picks, QB Matchup, Injury Update, Betting Trends and Stats

Assuming one can suspend disbelief and somehow rationalize the Browns’ path to contention, the winner between Cincinnati (2-4) and Cleveland (1-5) remains in both the division and wild-card races this Sunday Verge. It looks like a tough task for the winner, but for the loser it is most likely over. Mathematically speaking, a loss does not mean the demise of either side. The loser at least fails the eye test.

I can make a case for Cleveland’s defense to limit, but not completely stop, Joe Burrow and the Bengals. I just can’t imagine Deshaun Watson reaching the end zone more than once, if ever, against a lesser Cincinnati defense. Why? Cleveland is the first team in more than two decades to play the first six games of a season without gaining a total of 300 yards or exceeding 18 points… ever. The data screams at us that Watson is simply a bad quarterback.

And with this reminder, we cannot reasonably expect anyone to suspend their disbelief. The Browns will likely find their way to another win or two this season. However, their season win total is now just 4.5 and it still screams, “Play the Under!”

Let’s put the Futures game on hold and dive into this weekend’s specific matchup, Cincinnati vs. Cleveland.

Bengals @ Browns odds

Monday’s latest odds courtesy of DraftKings:

  • Money line: Cincinnati Bengals (-225), Cleveland Browns (+185)
  • Spread: Bengal -4.5
  • In total: 43

That line opened Cincinnati -5 but moved toward the Browns. I’m not sure if that’s more of a compliment to Cleveland’s defense or a dig at Cincinnati’s defense. The total remains where it opened at 43.

NBC Sports Bet Best Bets

It doesn’t take long to accumulate hugely negative statistics about Deshaun Watson and the Browns. However, put them into context with this week’s opponent, the Cincinnati Bengals, before making any betting decisions. Still, it is valid that the Bengals scored the points. Also take a look at Joe Burrow’s 2+ passing TDs as it will be difficult for the Bengals to run the ball.
