Update on the Cheyenne Park attack suspect arrested for beating an elderly man

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – KGNS received an update on the alleged Sept. 14 incident in Cheyenne Park in which a teenager attacked an elderly man.

The teen involved was arrested and taken to the Webb County Juvenile Village.

Two hearings have been held against him so far and he remains in custody.

District Attorney Marco Montemayor says his office is prepared to make a recommendation.

“We have filed the petition for certification, so we will proceed with certifying this person as an adult. “So we are awaiting further court dates and will proceed respectfully,” Montemayor said.

Montemayor added that the next hearing will take place in a few days.
