South Georgia child care worker charged with child abuse

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – A child care worker has been charged with child abuse following an Albany police investigation.

An official said Ja’Nya Jones was arrested on child molestation charges on Monday, October 14, following an interview with police. According to police, the alleged incident did not occur at the daycare where Jones worked.

The relationship between Jones and the alleged victim is currently unknown.

According to APD, Jones was arrested in July on a minor charge of complicity. It is unclear whether the two alleged incidents are related.

Jones is currently in the Dougherty County Jail.
