1 dead after impact on I-24 bridge

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Rutherford County on Saturday, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP).

The accident occurred just before 11 a.m. on Interstate 24 East near Mile Marker 74

THP reports that 42-year-old William Scurlock was driving east when he struck another car and went off the left side of the road.

Scurlock’s Toyota Tundra then crashed into a bridge pillar and finally came to a stop.

The THP said Scurlock died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
