Slow Horses star in the first-look trailer for the new true story drama

Lockerbie: A Search for Truth, the new drama starring Slow Horses’ Colin Firth and Catherine McCormack, has released its first trailer.

The five-part series tells the true story of Jim (Firth) and Jane Swire (McCormack), who set out to seek justice after their daughter Flora was one of 259 victims of Pan Am Flight 103 in 1988.

After the bombing that claimed eleven more lives in the Scottish town of the same name, Jim becomes the “nominated spokesman for the families of the British victims who have come together to demand truth and justice.”

“Jim travels across continents and political divides, embarking on a relentless journey that not only endangers his stability, his family and his life, but also completely destroys his trust in the justice system,” the logline continues (via Sky ).

“As the truth changes beneath Jim’s feet, his view of the world changes forever. “Lockerbie: A Search For Truth examines the events of the disaster and its aftermath, offering an intimate account of a man, a husband and a father, who risks everything in memory of his daughter and in the unwavering pursuit of truth and justice.”

The teaser trailer for the series, which is scheduled to premiere on January 2ndchronicles Jim and Jane’s three-decade journey for justice, taking him to different parts of the world as he becomes embroiled in meetings and trials.

In addition to Firth and McCormack, the series’ cast also includes Sam Troughton, Mark Bonnar, Ardalan Esmaili and Guy Henry, with Otto Bathurst and James Loach sharing directing duties.

“The bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 was one of the most devastating terrorist attacks, killing 270 innocent people, including US and British citizens,” said Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant, executive producers of Carnival Films.

“As spokesmen for the families of the British victims, we have followed Jim Swire’s remarkable story for over three decades. It is significant to see Colin Firth’s captivating performance now as he portrays Jim’s life’s work on screen.

“Partly a deeply moving character story about love and loss, this drama is also an investigative political thriller that shows how an ordinary man with unstoppable determination can take on governments and world leaders in the search for the truth.”
