Woman accused of shooting boyfriend in Murfreesboro apartment

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Murfreesboro woman is facing charges after she allegedly shot and killed her live-in boyfriend over the weekend, according to police.

Murfreesboro police arrested 22-year-old Shaquira Brown after the shooting death of 27-year-old Jaleel Turner on Sunday.

Brown is charged with second-degree murder in connection with Turner’s death. The shooting happened at The Southern – Apartment Homes on Lascassas Pike around 2 p.m

A preliminary investigation revealed that Turner was shot once inside the apartment after an argument with Brown, police said.

“Brown is being held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on a $750,000 bond. A hearing is scheduled [for] Jan. 8 in Rutherford County General Sessions Court,” MPD said.
