Moment where John Harbaugh is pulled from the Ravens press conference after his brother Jim suffers incidental health problems

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was made aware of his brother John’s health issues in the middle of Sunday’s postgame press conference.

Jim Harbaugh, who is also NFL head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, required medical treatment for a cardiac arrhythmia before Sunday’s 23-16 victory over the Denver Broncos.

John was addressing reporters as usual after the Ravens earned a 30-23 victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday when he was told he had to cancel his press conference.

The coach was pulled from the press by a Ravens staff member, leaving John slightly dismayed and shocked.

John quickly left the podium and left the room before the same staff member briefed the group of reporters on the events in Denver.

Jim, 60, dealt with the issue just before the contest and was examined in the courtside medical tent at Mile High Stadium, which sits 5,280 feet above sea level.

Then, right after the game started, he left the field with the team trainers and the club announced that he left the game with an illness.

Jim later revealed that he had experienced “atrial flutter,” also known as an arrhythmia, but his heart rate returned to normal rhythm after he went to the locker room.

Jim said he was given an IV by paramedics and given a magnesium pill before returning to the sideline midway through the first quarter.

This was the second time Jim suffered from cardiac arrhythmia during a game. The other came on November 19, 2012, when he was coaching the San Francisco 49ers in their 32-7 victory over the Chicago Bears.

“I’ve had a couple of ablations — one in 1999 and one in 2012,” Jim said of a procedure to treat irregular heart rhythms.

“I always remember this in 2012. It was during the Monday Night game – Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers against the Chicago Bears and Colin had a great night.”

Jim said he would see his cardiologist on Monday.

After saying, “I could see there were some irregular heartbeats,” Harbaugh then joked, “I’m medically qualified to talk about that.”

He then added that he was now “2-0 due to cardiac arrhythmia.”
