Concussed Marvin Harrison Jr. stumbles to the ground in a scary scene

Cardinals wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. stumbled frighteningly on Sunday after colliding his head with the thigh of a Packers defender during Arizona’s Week 6 loss to Green Bay in which the rookie exited early with a concussion.

With the Cardinals trailing 17-0 in the first half, Harrison Jr. tried to grab him but saw the ball slip through his hands and his head then hit the lower body of Green Bay linebacker Isaiah McDuffie.

The scene took a frightening turn shortly afterward when 22-year-old Harrison Jr. stood up from the field and wobbled before falling back to the ground.

The former Ohio State star was then examined in the medical tent and ruled out for the remainder of the game, a 34-13 loss to the Packers.

“He ended up hitting my leg,” McDuffie said of the play with Harrison Jr. “I went to tackle him and he kind of ducked and ended up hitting my quad. “It was a weird play.”

Head coach Jonathan Gannon said the severity of Harrison Jr.’s concussion was unclear, according to ESPN.

The son of Hall of Fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison and the fourth overall pick in this year’s draft, Harrison Jr. has 17 receptions for 279 yards and four touchdowns in six games this season.

The Cardinals, currently 2-4, host the Chargers (3-2) next week on “Monday Night Football.”

It remains to be seen whether Harrison Jr. will be available for the Week 7 matchup.
