A wave of bomb threats is reportedly sweeping Ukraine

On October 14, reports of mass bomb threats against schools, city councils and government offices poured in from across Ukraine. Law enforcement agencies and specialized bomb squads inspect these sites for potential explosive devices.

In Vinnytsia, police spokeswoman Zarina Maevska confirmed that several schools had fallen victim to bomb attacks. Blasting technicians and dog protection units are currently carrying out checks, it is said Suspilne.

In Kiev, bomb threats led to the Supreme Judicial Council’s work being temporarily suspended and staff evacuated. Additionally, Ukrinform reported threats against Kiev School No. 217 and the office of Liga.net.

In Lviv, anonymous threats were made against School No. 10 and School No. 10 Lviv Polytechnic Universitywhile the mayor of Zhovkva confirmed a threat to the city council, although no explosives were found.

Sumy received reports of bomb threats against ten government institutions, including the Zarechnyi Court, the Ministry of Education and a tax office.

According to a local news portal, Zaporizhzhia received over 30 reports of bomb threats against companies and institutions.

Other regions, including Zakarpattia, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Rivne and Khmelnytskyi, were also affected by several bomb threats, causing widespread disruption as authorities conducted extensive checks. Many of the threats targeted educational institutions and critical infrastructure locations.

The National Police said the wave of threats could be part of a broader psychological operation aimed at “destabilizing the country.”
