Lockerbie Peacock Sky Drama Reveals Trailer Starring Colin Firth

Peacock and Sky have revealed the trailer, images and premiere date for their drama series about Britain’s deadliest terror attack ever, starring Colin Firth.

Lockerbie: A Search for Truth is inspired by the true story that followed the horrific events of December 21, 1988, after 270 people were killed when Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over the Scottish city.

Firth plays Jim Swire, the nominated spokesperson for the families of the British victims who are banding together to demand truth and justice. Traveling across continents and political divides, Jim embarks on a relentless journey that not only endangers his stability, his family and his life, but also completely destroys his trust in the justice system. Catherine McCormack, Rosanna Adams, Jemma Carlton, Harry Redding, Sam Troughton, Mark Bonner, Ardalan Esmaili and Selwa Jghalef star alongside Firth. NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution sold.

The series of Downton Abbey The producer Carnival starts on January 2nd. BBC and Netflix are cooking up a separate Lockerbie drama starring Connor Swindells and Patrick J Adams, while a Grierson-nominated Sky documentary about the disaster from Louis Theroux’s Mindhouse aired late last year.

EP MPs Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant said: “The bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 was one of the most devastating terrorist attacks, killing 270 innocent people, including both US and British citizens.” Speaking as speakers of the British victims’ families, we have followed Jim Swire’s remarkable story for over three decades. “It is significant to now see Colin Firth’s captivating performance as he portrays Jim’s life’s work on screen.”

Neame, Marchant, Sam Hoyle, Liz Trubridge, Jim Sheridan, Kirsten Sheridan and Oskar Slingerland release an EP with director Otto Bathurst and writer David Harrower.
