The last season, which aired two years ago, focused on the collapse of divorce Lawyers Hannah Stern (played by Nicola Walker) and Nathan Stern (Stephen Mangan) Wedding.

This time the hit TV series returns with a two-part show whose revealed show bosses will play in the sunny scenario Barcelona and that “love could be in the air.”

In “The Split – Barcelona,” the entire cast is back for a wedding abroad.

The new series follows Hannah and her sisters Nina (Annabel Scholey) and Rose (Fiona Button) as they join their domineering mother Ruth (Deborah Findlay) in a Catalan vineyard where the wedding is taking place.

Fans of “The Split” will also be reunited with returning cast members Ian McElhinney, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Elizabeth Roberts and Alex Guersman.

New images have been released giving a first look at new character Toby Stephens as skilled family lawyer Archie Moore and glamorous presenters Alvaro (Manu Fullola) and Valentina (Romina Cocca).

Seeing a couple in love say “I do” awakens Hannah’s feelings about her own failed marriage.

And there’s nothing like a holiday to spark romance as the main characters realize they still have feelings for each other.

Nick and Hannah had been husband and wife for 20 years until they realized they couldn’t overcome their marital problems.

Series writer Abi Morgan revealed: “In a world of brutal break-ups and alluring make-ups, the Defoe family are invited to their own overseas wedding that promises everything audiences have come to love about The Split has.”

The BBC’s acclaimed crime drama returns to cinemas two years after its cliffhanger finale

“Problematic marriages, scandalous wedding crashers and low-flying marriage proposals as romantic comedy meetings go awry in a chaotic and rollicking weekend that’s guaranteed to rip your heart out before the last guests have gone home.”

Director Lindsay Salt added: “We know that millions of fans of the Splits found it difficult to part with the Defoes. So before we dive into the intoxicating world of Split Up, we were treated to an extra treat in the form of these exquisite, sun-kissed specialties from the wonderful Abi Morgan.

The show is in production and show bosses have announced that fans will be able to watch it on BBC One and iPlayer later this year.

Meanwhile, a spin-off series set in Manchester called The Split Up is also being filmed.
