Red meat exports in August show mixed results

IARN – Driven by another stellar performance from Mexico, U.S. pork exports rose year-over-year in August, according to data released by the USDA and compiled by the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF). On the other hand, US beef exports in August were below the previous year’s level. Dan Halstrom, president and CEO of USMEF, said that the value of pork exports reached a record pace through August and that USMEF forecasts that both export volume and export value will reach record highs in 2024.
