The trial of a Holmes School aide accused of sexual assault begins Monday

Jefferson faces one count of second-degree sexual abuse of a child, three counts of child enticement, three counts of soliciting a child for prostitution and three counts of exposing a child to harmful content.

If convicted, the assault charge carries a maximum penalty of up to 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine. Jefferson faces up to 25 years in prison and $100,000 for each count of solicitation and solicitation. For the charge of exposing a child to harmful material, he faces up to three and a half years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Jefferson’s lawyers did not respond to requests for comment before publication.
