Seaside Park Police have released their weekly blotter, which is a selection of calls police responded to over the past week. The total number of calls handled by the department during that period was 161.

The blotter looks like this:

Suspicious person – Police responded to the area of ​​L St. Beach for a report of a man sleeping on the beach. Officers arrived and located the male subject in a sleeping bag keeping him warm but awake and actively fishing. There was no violation and no further police action was required.

Dog on the loose – Police were stopped at J St. Marina for a woman who said she was walking her dog when another woman had a loose dog that chased the complainant and bit her on the leg. The victim stated that the dog bite did not break the skin, refused any medical treatment and only wanted to report the incident to the police. Officers gathered all information necessary to prepare a report and checked the area for the other person, who could not be located.

Arrest – During a vehicle stop for traffic violations, it was discovered that the driver had an active arrest warrant from a neighboring jurisdiction. The officers arrested the man and took him to police headquarters for further processing. The man was issued a traffic citation and released with a new court date for the warrant.

Arrest – Police received a call about an erratic driver driving a vehicle on the boardwalk. Moments later, police received another call about a disturbance in the area of ​​M St. and Boulevard regarding a male subject screaming. Upon arrival, it was determined that these two incidents were related and that the male subject was the erratic driver. After further investigation on site, it emerged that the man was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and taken to police headquarters for further processing. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and other traffic offenses.

Oral dispute – Police were dispatched to the area of ​​F St. and Central Avenue for a report of an argument between a man and a woman. Officers arrived, located the man and woman and separated both parties. Both subjects were drunk and arguing as they walked home. The police were able to calm the situation and ensure that the couple drove home safely.

Community Police – While on patrol, police were stopped and advised that there was an intoxicated man sitting at Porter and the Boulevard who they saw falling. The police arrived and spoke to the drunk man. He stated that he had fallen but refused any medical treatment for the scratches he sustained in the fall. The man was driven home safely and officers made sure he got into his apartment.

Swimmers in distress – Police were dispatched to 2nd Ave. Beach sent to retrieve a male swimmer in distress. When officers arrived, they observed a man being pulled out of the water by two surfers. The man was evaluated at the scene by the Tri-Boro First Aid Team and refused any further medical attention.

First aid – Police and the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to a person who was having difficulty breathing. Police and emergency services arrived and examined the patient on site. He was later taken to Community Medical Center for treatment.

Suspicious person – Police were dispatched to the area of ​​O St. and Ocean Ave. sent to look for a man who was lurking in a garden where he was not allowed to be. The caller startled them and the person fled. The caller waited to call police and the person disappeared from the area. The only description was of a man in a dark hoodie.
