A man was found dead near a liquor store in NW OKC, according to police

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Oklahoma City police are trying to piece together what happened after a man was murdered near Northwest 89th and Western Saturday evening.

One person died after Saturday’s shooting in northwest OKC

“They found a male deceased,” said Jon Skuta of the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Oklahoma City police said they responded to a shooting and found the victim shot to death in the parking lot of a liquor store.

A man who worked at a nearby gas station didn’t want to go on camera, but told News 4 he was startled by the shots and was afraid he and his customers might have to take cover.

On Sunday morning, a possible break in the investigation led officers to drive to a neighborhood near Southeast 23rd and Bryant.

Skuta says, “Santa Fe officers have located a vehicle believed to be connected to a homicide that occurred last night in the 9000 block of Northwestern Avenue.”

According to police, two people were in a house where the car was found.

“Our captors were on site and we were able to get them out of the house pretty quickly,” says Skuta.

As for possible suspects, police say they have taken several people of interest into custody.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
