Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born is an ongoing South Korean series that premiered on October 12, 2024. With the release of the second episode, the series achieved high ratings. Furthermore, Iron Family has managed to achieve its highest ratings ever with its latest episode release.

Starring Kim Tae Ri, the story of “Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born” revolves around a girl who dreams of becoming a theater actress. The show is set in the 1950s and offers a unique perspective on a woman’s hardships during this time. On October 14, 2024, Nielsen Korea announced that the second episode of the series earned 8.2 ratings, almost double the viewership of the first episode.

The story is based on the webtoon Jeong Nyeon written by Seo Irae and illustrated by Namon and is set in post-war Korea in 1956. The plot revolves around Jeong Nyeon, a young woman from Mokpo who has neither money nor formal education, but with a natural talent for singing. Determined to make a name for herself, she dreams of joining a traditional women’s theater group and becoming famous.

In addition to Kim Tae Ri, the cast of the show includes Shin Ye Eun, Ra Mi Ran, Jung Eun Chae, Kim Yoon Hye, Woo Davi, Hyun Seung Hee, Lee Se Young, Jung Ra El, Jo Ah Young and more.

Iron Family has now reached an all-time high with the 6th episode and has recorded a nationwide average rating of 16.0 percent. It has become the most watched show of the entire week. Additionally, another ongoing K-drama has achieved an average audience rating of 4.5 percent nationwide with the release of its second episode.
