Starring Kim Tae Ri, the story of “Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born” revolves around a girl who dreams of becoming a theater actress. On October 14, 2024, Nielsen Korea announced that the second episode of the series earned 8.2 ratings, almost double the viewership of the first episode.

The story is based on the webtoon Jeong Nyeon written by Seo Irae and illustrated by Namon and is set in post-war Korea in 1956. The plot revolves around Jeong Nyeon, a young woman from Mokpo who has neither money nor formal education, but with a natural talent for singing. Determined to make a name for herself, she dreams of joining a traditional women’s theater group and becoming famous.
