Brevard County High School’s football teams are preparing to take the field after games were postponed for a week due to Hurricane Milton.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County High School football teams are preparing to take the field after games were postponed for a week due to Hurricane Milton.

Tune in to Space Coast Daily TV as the Eau Gallie Commodores host the Merritt Island Mustangs on Monday.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and Space Coast Daily’s Juan Rodriguez will be on the phone.

Below is the list of football games for this week.

Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame members Steve Wilson and Orville Susong from Friday Night Locker Room will once again bring you all the live action from the broadcast booth. Additionally, Tom Palermo, Jim Palermo, Giles Malone, Zach Clark, Juan Rodriguez, Ron Lighthall, Terry Spain, JC Meyerholz, Matt O’Hern, Gavin Keith and Brian Dillon will host or produce play-by-play broadcasts this season .

The Space Coast Daily team brings you the best news and sports coverage from Brevard County. This is the school’s fourth decade of high school sports coverage Space Coast Daily and the Friday Night Locker Room.

In 1997 Dr. Jim Palermo, now editor-in-chief of Space Coast Dailyand Tom Palermo, now Space Coast Daily President and publisher, created Brevard County’s first-ever high school football game on the radio.

From 1997 to 2000, the Palermo brothers hosted high school football action at WMEL. Below is an excerpt promoting broadcasts from the August 26, 1999 edition Space Coast Press Newspaper owned and published by Tom Palermo. Gannett bought that Press from Palermo in July 2000.

“One of the most memorable moments of those years was when we broadcast the Palm Bay-Dillard 2000 state championship game from the Swamp in Gainesville to Brevard,” said Jim Palermo.

Dan Burke’s Palm Bay Pirates defeated Dillard 10-6 to win the 6A title that year.

The Palermo’s handed over the reins of broadcasts to the Friday Night Locker Room team starting in 2001. Since then, Friday Night Locker Room hasn’t missed a beat as Steve Wilson and Orville Susong begin their 23rd full season of broadcasting prep sports on Space Coast.

In 2012 Space Coast Daily and the Friday Night Locker Room have partnered to bring Brevard County unique, comprehensive, state-of-the-art multimedia coverage of youth and collegiate sports, including football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, track and field, wrestling, bowling and more.

Always the innovators Space Coast Daily – The Friday Night Locker Room team provided Space Coast sports fans with the first web live streams and play-by-play action on Facebook Live and is committed to continuing to be the Space Coast’s premier provider of multimedia sports coverage for years to come to be.
