Drugstore owner describes robbery as South Fulton police search for criminals

All Linda Davis can do now is watch security footage of thieves stealing thousands in cash and drugs after breaking into her pharmacy.

“It was devastating,” Davis said Channel 2’s Michael Doudna. “I drew the floor plan for this place. I put these shelves up and drilled the stuff into the wall. I literally built this place piece by piece.”

Security footage shows how their security forces are being bypassed little by little.

While two men acted as lookouts, another man sawed open the back door, crawled across the floor to avoid a motion detector and broke through a bathroom wall to get into an office and turn off the alarm.

According to the incident report, employees showed up at the Old National Pharmacy on Old National Highway Thursday morning and discovered it had been looted and robbed.

The pharmacy owner told police she could tell the robbers got away with bags full of money and Percocet. It’s unclear what else they were able to get.

“I saw him on camera where he came through. He read the labels and looked for what he wanted,” Davis said.

Davis says the three men walked away with thousands in cash as well as narcotics such as oxycodone, morphine and other drugs that can be broken down and sold.

“These drugs are now on the streets. And it goes directly against what we stand for. Our pharmacists are sworn to save lives and do no harm, and now these drugs are on the streets and they will potentially kill a loved one,” Davis said.

South Fulton police are still searching for those responsible. A police spokesman believes this may be related to a similar situation in Dekalb County.
