Baba Siddique Murder Case: Mastermind, Shooters and Their Criminal Past – Everything You Need to Know |

NEW DELHII: Two of the three suspects involved in the murder of former MLA Ziauddin ‘Baba’ Siddique in Bandra have been identified Dharmaraj Kashyap And Shivkumar Gautamboth are from Bahraich district in Uttar Pradesh while the third suspect, Gurnail Singhhails from Haryana’s Kaithal.
The shooters: Dharmaraj Kashyap, Shivkumar Gautam, Gurnail Singh
The two were neighbors in the Gandara village of Kaiserganj and had no criminal record.
Dharmaraj Kashyap, who was arrested soon after the incident, had been living in Mumbai for two months and was involved in the scrap business.
His mother was shocked by the news and said he had mentioned his work in Mumbai but had no evidence of criminal activity.
Shivkumar Gautam, still at large, was working at a shop in Pune. His family knew nothing about his involvement in the crime; his mother only found out about it through media reports.
Gautam’s father believes that his son might have been manipulated into this act as he had not committed any criminal behavior in the past.
However, his social media account paints a different picture, as he had portrayed himself as a “gangster” in several Instagram posts, often using cinematic voice-overs to portray a rebellious image.
Gurnail Singh, one of the two in custody, has a known criminal past. He hails from Narar village in Kaithal, Haryana and has three cases registered against him, including one for the murder of his cousin in 2019.
He was lodged in Kaithal Prison, where he developed links with associates of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. After being released on bail a few months ago, Gurnail moved to Mumbai and expanded his network.
The mastermind of the plan: Zeeshan Akhtar
Zeeshan Akhtar acted as handler of Baba Siddique’s shooters and gave them instructions from outside. During the shootout, Akhtar reportedly passed on information about Siddique’s whereabouts to the gunmen.
The social media post: Shubham Lonkar
Akola resident Shubham Lonkar, who was arrested in January for illegal possession of firearms, posted on social media linking Bishnoi’s gang to Siddique’s murder.
He claimed that the murder was linked to actor Salman Khan and suspected links with Dawood Ibrahim.
While Shubham remains at large, his brother Pravin (28) was arrested in Pune on charges of conspiring and recruiting the two jailed attackers – Haryana’s Gurnail Singh (23) and Dharmaraj Kashyap (19) from Uttar Pradesh.
