Rochester Car Show raises funds for shelter animals

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Garden & Gasoline hosted a car show called “Paws and Pedals” at the Garden Skatepark on Sunday. This is the organization’s final event of the year and is intended to raise funds for Paws & Claws and Companion Homestead.

According to Garden & Gasoline co-host Kaan Avci, the organization was founded last year in collaboration with Garden Skate Park. He said it was an opportunity for local car enthusiasts to get together while supporting local businesses by attracting more people.

“We are all here to support local businesses and that was the main motivation behind why we started Garden & Gasoline,” Avci said. “We usually end the season with a fundraiser with a beneficiary that we change and rotate every year. “Well, just to give everyone a fair look.”

Sunday’s car show featured vehicles ranging from classic to modern, as well as food vendors and live pet adoptions from Paws & Claws on site. “It really touches my heart to see everyone pulling together and just having a good time,” Avci said. “I like bringing everyone together and exchanging ideas. If it involves cars, a good cup of coffee, skateboarding and a good cause, why not?”

“Even if you don’t bring the car here or don’t have a particular interest in the fundraiser, we would really like more people to come along and, one, enjoy the coffee, but two, just enjoy the atmosphere. “

Organizers said there won’t be another auto show until March or April next year. To learn more about future events, visit the Garden & Gasoline Facebook page.
