Police respond to two murders within two days in St. Paul

St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) – Police responded to two apparent murders reported in St. Paul in the last two days.

One of the deaths was the result of a stabbing and the other was the result of a shooting.

The first apparent murder occurred on Friday afternoon and the second on Saturday evening.

Man suffers fatal stab wounds in fight at St. Paul gas station

Police responded to the fatal stabbing Friday night in the 200 block of East 7th St. A spokesman told reporters that one person was stabbed during an altercation at a convenience store just before 5:30 p.m

The man, who was found with stab wounds, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Authorities said a 60-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of second-degree manslaughter.

Man fatally shot near St. Paul intersection

On Saturday, police responded to an apparent fatal shooting in a residential area near the Wheelock Pkwy intersection. and Woodbridge St.

Responding officers found a man with gunshot wounds near the intersection around 10 p.m. A spokesman told reporters that the gunshot victim was treated at the scene and then taken to a hospital, where he died.

To date, no arrests have been made in the fatal shooting. Police have not yet identified the victims of the two murders.
