Bulandshahr encounter: Notorious criminal killed by police, injuries reported | Meerut News

Meerut: A man is wanted in connection with more than 50 criminal Cases including murder and extortion were killed in one Encounter with the police early Sunday morning Bulandshahr. Two policemen, including an inspector and a constable, were also injured in the shootout.
Rajesh Kumar (30) was a resident of Sihlinagar, Anupshahr and had a bounty of ₹1.5 lakh on his head. SSP Shlok Kumar said Kumar, who was riding a motorcycle, opened fire on the police team when the police signaled him to stop. “In retaliation, the police fired back and injured Kumar. Kumar was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries. “A security guard and a police officer were also injured in the incident,” the SSP said.
Kumar had been on the run for months, frequently changing his hiding place to avoid arrest. His body has been sent for autopsy, police said.
In another incident on Sunday in Khurja in Bulandshahr, two men – accused of killing Army personnel Gaurav Singh (25) in Vimla Nagar area on October 9 – were arrested after a shootout. The two arrested men were identified as Babulal and Golu Singh. While he was taken to the hospital, the soldier named Babulal as one of the attackers before he succumbed to his gunshot wounds.
Family members said Singh lent Babulal ₹1.2 lakh and when Singh asked for his money last week, Babulal refused, leading to a heated argument that escalated into the fatal shootout on Wednesday.
“Both the accused were arrested after they sustained leg injuries in a crossfire with police,” said district official Bhaskar Mishra.
