A man was killed and a child was seriously injured in a crash in Abington on Saturday evening

A 44-year-old Dedham man is dead and a child is seriously injured in a crash Saturday evening in Abington.

The fatal incident occurred on Richard A. Fitts Drive around 7:27 p.m. and involved a single vehicle, Abington police said.

The 44-year-old man was the driver and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. A child who was a passenger in the vehicle was seriously injured and flown to a hospital in Boston.
