An attack like September 11th on Israel? New report on Hamas war reveals chilling details | World News

The Palestinian group Hamas launched a brutal terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, sending shockwaves through the international community and sparking one of the largest wars in the Middle East. Recently, the Iranian-backed Hezbollah also directly participated in the war with Israel, thereby posing a threat to world peace.

While the October 7, 2023 attack seemed sudden and unpredictable to the world, recent reports revealed that the offensive had been in the planning stages for years and that the terrorists originally planned to recreate a September 11-like attack on Israel.

The Hamas attack was originally planned for 2022

According to the Washington Post report, prepared based on documents obtained from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Hamas’s original plan was to attack Israel on October 7 of the previous year – 2022 – but the group delayed the attack to coordinate with Iran and Hezbollah to strengthen their military power.

Plans for a deadly attack like on September 11th

One of the most shocking revelations, according to the Washington Post report, is that Hamas’s original plan was to carry out a 9/11-style bombing in Israel that could have targeted the famous Azrieli Towers in Tel Aviv.

These skyscrapers house several offices, a shopping center and a main train station. The alleged plan was to carry out devastating attacks reminiscent of the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York on September 11, 2001, to bring down the towers and cause numerous casualties.

After months of deliberation, Hamas concluded that it lacked the resources and military power to carry out a plan like 9/11 and the original plan was scrapped.

What has been the impact for Hamas?

While most of its plans failed to come to fruition, one of the key factors that helped Hamas attack Israel directly was its successful attempt to mislead Israeli intelligence, one of the best in the world.

According to the documents in question, this deception was deliberate, as the Hamas leadership frequently discussed the need to lull Israel into a false sense of security.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched a large-scale, coordinated surprise attack on Israel that included rocket fire and ground attacks. More than 2,000 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli cities and towns, causing extensive damage and civilian casualties.
