A motorcyclist is fighting for his life after a crash in Wabasha County

LAKE CITY, MN (KROC-AM News) – A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident in southeastern Minnesota on Saturday.

It happened just before 5 p.m. The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved.

The State Patrol and other emergency responders were dispatched to the accident near the intersection with the highway. 60 and Wabasha County Rd. 4, which is approximately 14 miles west of Wabasha.

The motorcyclist was identified as 70-year-old Kenn Alan Register of Albert Lea. He was transported from the scene to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with life-threatening injuries.

The state accident report states that Register was riding the motorcycle west on the two-lane highway near County Road. 4.

According to the State Patrol, he was not wearing a helmet and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The Lake City Police Department, Lake City Fire Department, Lake City Ambulance and the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the accident.
