Tragic accident in Dussehra: Boy dies in homemade firecracker explosion

A 13-year-old boy tragically died after an explosion in an iron pipe filled with potassium during a Dussehra celebration in Sham Nagar, police reported on Sunday.

The explosion occurred on Saturday when two boys on a roof tried to make a homemade firecracker using potassium powder and an iron pipe.

The boys Ashish (13) and Aman (14) were initially taken to the civil hospital and later shifted to a private hospital. Ashish was eventually taken to a hospital in Amritsar where he succumbed to his injuries, said inspector Amandeep Nahar.
