Three injured in suspected knife attack in Parap, Darwin

A woman in Darwin reportedly stalked strangers and stabbed them with a pair of scissors in a series of random attacks.

The 19-year-old is accused of chasing and attacking three people in Parap on Thursday evening.

Police were called around 6:15 p.m. and arrived to find two men and a woman injured.

Paramedics transported a woman in her 60s to Royal Darwin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and treated the two men, aged 70 and 27, at the scene for minor injuries.

“CCTV operators monitored the situation in real time, enabling police to quickly locate and arrest the perpetrator nearby,” police said.

The 19-year-old was taken into custody and taken to Palmerston Watch House, where she has since been charged with three counts of grievous bodily harm and one count of acting armed in public.

The police are continuing their investigation and interviewing witnesses.
