Corruption in the VLK system: how many cases were opened this year?

The SBU opened 14 criminal cases due to illegal actions by VLK employees

Since the beginning of 2024, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has initiated 14 criminal cases against employees of the Military Medical Commissions (VLK) for their illegal actions. This was announced by the command of the medical forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after a meeting with the heads of the VLK units, which was held jointly with the SGE in order to prevent phenomena of corruption.

According to the SBU, 31 people were charged with corruption offenses during the investigation of cases this year.

In two cases, investigators identified illegal activities by VLK employees who were part of organized criminal groups.

Typically, corruption crimes committed by representatives of military medical commissions are classified under numerous articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including articles related to bribery, extortion of improper benefits, abuse of office, and others.

The command of the medical forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that any manifestation of corruption is unacceptable and harmful to the interests of the state, especially its defense capability.

Illegal enrichment of the head of the MSEK of the Khmelnytsky region detected

Last week, the illegal enrichment of the head of the Khmelnytsky Regional Center for Medical and Social Expertise (MSEK), Tetyana Krupa, and her son, the head of the regional pension fund Oleksandr Krupa, was revealed. Searches of her home uncovered nearly $6 million in cash.

The head of the Khmelnytsky Regional Military Administrative Group, Serhii Tyurin, commented on this situation, noting that the scale of the crime was shocking in its cynicism.

On October 7, the Pechersk District Court of Kiev decided on a preventive measure for Tetyana Krupa, who was imprisoned for illegal enrichment. She is expected to remain in custody until December 3, with the possibility of a bail of over UAH 500 million.

In addition, the Servant of the People party initiated mandatory mandate proceedings against Tetyana Krupa, who heads the Khmelnytsky Regional Center for Medical and Social Expertise.
