Cornell is the High Point team at RIT Show I

ROCHESTER, NY – The Cornell Equestrian Team opened its 2024-25 season with a standout performance at the first show of the doubleheader at the Rochester Institute of Technology, capturing the High Point Championship and fielding the High Point Rider and Reserve High point riders the show.

Cornell claimed the highlight of the day’s championship, Caly Stewart was the highlight of the driver and Jianna Simcik was the show’s reserve high point driver.

Erin Morera (open fences), Lily Skillern (intermediate fences), Stewart (intermediate fences), Simcik (border fences), Jillian Ryan (border fences), Caroline Gaudet (Beginner), Lauren Benson (pre-beginners) and Uma Comfort (Introduction) Everyone took first place that day.

This was Gaudet’s collegiate debut as she placed first in the novice category.

Riley Gerardo (open apartment), Jillian Steinmetz (Middle School), Stewart (Middle School), Emma Basher (intermediate fences), Simcik (boundary) and Evelyn Gurvich (Beginners) all achieved second place.
