One dead in vehicle accident in the town of Jefferson

TOWN OF JEFFERSON, Wis. (WMTV) – Officers responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash before 1 a.m. Saturday in the town of Jefferson.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident, but a preliminary on-scene investigation shows the vehicle was traveling southbound on CTH N, failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway.

According to the sheriff’s office, the vehicle became stuck on a tree and overturned before remaining upright.

The driver was the only person in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Fort Atkinson Fire Department and the Jefferson County Coroner assisted the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
