BOL Live Show: Instant analysis of Alabama’s narrow win over South Carolina

Alabama has been in some tough battles lately. In each of their two meetings prior to this week, it ended as a one-possession game. Bama beat No. 2 Georgia at home by seven points before falling 40-35 to Vanderbilt a week later.

On Saturday against South Carolina, the Tide got off to a hot start with a nine-play, 75-yard touchdown drive on their first possession to take a 7-0 lead. With four minutes left in the second quarter, they took a 14-0 lead into halftime. A strange series of events ultimately led to the Gamecocks scoring 12 points and trailing by just two points at halftime.

The rest of the game was close as Bama was unable to extend its lead beyond a single possession. South Carolina had a late touchdown and an onside kick recovery that nearly resulted in an upset win for the Gamecocks.
