Tragic drowning incident claims lives of a man and a nephew in Gujarat’s Narmada Canal |

Jodhpur: A 33-year-old man and his 22-year-old nephew, both residents of Gujaratdied after falling into the main channel of the Narmada river Sanchore on Friday evening.
Police said the deceased, Jetabhai Patel and his nephew Kiran Patel were on their way to visit a relative in Kilwa village when the incident occurred on the border of Agar and Kilwa villages. “On the way, Jetabhai went to drink water from the canal near Golasan. He slipped and fell “His nephew jumped into the canal to save him but both of them drowned in the deep water,” said SHO Hukmaram of Sanchore.
He said police were informed about the drowning accident around 8pm on Friday. A police team and divers managed to rescue the two men after about six hours of searching in the canal. An autopsy was carried out. TNN
