According to Graham police, 1 were killed and 1 was injured in the shooting on East Hill Street

GRAHAM, North Carolina – One person is dead and another is seriously injured following an overnight shooting, according to officials with the Graham Police Department.

Officers said around 10:26 p.m. Friday they responded to the 400 block of East Hill Street for a reported shooting.

When officers arrived, they said they found two victims with gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the second victim was flown to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Following the investigation, officers arrested 52-year-old Derrick Ramont Spencer and charged him with first-degree murder and possession of a stolen firearm.

The investigation is ongoing.
