A Passaic woman is facing assault and weapons charges after authorities say she stabbed a co-worker during an argument at a Hasbrouck Heights restaurant Saturday night.

Juana Galvez Genaro, 23, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon following an investigation by the Bergen County District Attorney’s Office and Hasbrouck Heights police.

According to a press release from the district attorney’s office, officers responded to a reported stabbing at 163 Boulevard on Saturday at 11:52 p.m. This is the address of The Heights Bar and Grill, an American Irish-style pub.

An investigation revealed that Galvez Genaro, an employee of the bar, stabbed a co-worker in the chest during an argument, prosecutors said. The victim, whose identity was not released by prosecutors, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Galvez Genaro was remanded to Bergen County Jail pending his court appearance.
