Multiple injuries were reported in a crash on westbound I-80 in Fairfield

Fairfield firefighters and paramedics responded to a serious vehicle accident on I-80 westbound near Travis Blvd. According to authorities, several people were injured early Saturday morning.

The Fairfield Fire Department posted a report about the incident on its Facebook page at 4 a.m. Saturday morning. At the time, the post said firefighters were at the scene of the accident that resulted in the rescue.

While the post did not specify how many vehicles were involved or how many injuries there were, it did note that all patients were transported to local hospitals.

The post reported significant traffic delays in the area, but as of 8 a.m. there was no indication on CHP traffic maps of ongoing problems in the area.
