ENTERTAINMENT NOTES: Documentary about the explosion at the Titan II missile complex in Damascus in 1980 on the screens | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

THEATER

The 24 hour pieces — Six original short works by six writers with six directors and 24 actors, conceived, written, rehearsed and performed within 24 hours, come to the stage Monday at 7 p.m. at the Arkansas Repertory Theater, 601 Main St., Little Rock.

The playwrights are Kevin Delaney, Brian C. Earles, Dariane LyJoi Mull, James Mainard O’Connell, Lavinia Roberts and Werner Trieschmann; The directors are Ben Barham, Mark Burbank, Christy Hall, Deandre Lewis, DayDay Robinson and Taijee. Musical guests include Stephanie Smittle and Kami Renee.

The first event of its kind raised $15,000 for tornado relief in Arkansas. This year’s beneficiary is The Van, which locates and assists homeless Arkansans. Tickets are $30. Visit therep.org/24hour/tickets.

“Murder on the Nile”

The richest young woman in England takes her new husband on a honeymoon on the Nile when a brutal murder occurs on the riverboat in “Murder on the Nile.” And since it’s by Agatha Christie (based on her 1937 novel Death on the Nile), everyone on board is a suspect. It opens on Wednesday and is on stage until November 9th Murry’s Dinner Playhouse6323 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock. Brooke Carter Wallace plays Kay Mostyn with Michael Kutcher as her husband Simon. Mark Hansen, Keith Harper, Laura Carlton, Sara Nichols, Micah Patterson, Miranda Jane, Jeff Bailey, director Roger M. Eaves and Paige Reynolds are the usual suspects. Performances take place Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. (Wednesday matinees at 12:30 p.m. only, October 16, 23 and 30) and Sundays at 12:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. The buffet opens 90 minutes before the start. “Command and Control”

The MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History503 E. Ninth St., Little Rock, shows the documentary “Command and Control,” an investigation into the causes and effects of the Sept. 18, 1980, liquid fuel explosion at a missile silo near Damascus, Van Buren County. which housed a US Air Force LGM-25C Titan II intercontinental ballistic missile, Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. It is part of the museum’s Movies at MacArthur series. Rogers Ghost Walks

Costumed interpreters perform on five evenings in October Rogers Historical Museum lead 45-minute Ghost Walks tours of downtown Rogers, telling true local stories of murder, mischief and mayhem, drawn from local newspaper obituaries from the 1870s to 1920s. Tours begin at 7:00 p.m., with additional tours departing every 15 minutes, the final one beginning at 8:15 p.m. Friday through Saturday and October 24 through 26 on the museum grounds, 313 and 322 S. Second St. at Cherry Street. The tours are suitable for older teenagers and adults; Wear comfortable shoes and prepare to walk about a quarter mile at a slow pace. “Romeo and Juliet”

Ballet Arkansas will stage Sergei Prokofiev’s ballet “Romeo and Juliet” on February 14 at 7:30 p.m., February 15 at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. and February 16 at 2:30 p.m. at the Robinson Center Performance Hall in Little Rock, 426 W.
