The season of ghouls, goblins and ghosts has officially begun.

From a “haunted” mental asylum to a bar crawl to a terrifying car wash, there’s plenty of fright in store for the Detroit area this month. Here you can see some of them.

Wayne County

Eloise Asylum

Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until November 2nd: Walk through two state-of-the-art horror experiences that offer 35,000 square feet of high-tech horror.

In addition, the attractions “Escape the Asylum” and “Heist” will continue to operate.

Eloise Asylum, also known as the Wayne County Poorhouse, operated from 1839 to 1982. It is located at 30712 Michigan Ave. in Westland. Click Eloise Asylum to order tickets starting at $35.

Skeletons are alive

Until October 31st: An outdoor public art exhibit in downtown Northville features more than 120 life-sized skeletons.

Streets full of goodies

10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on October 28th: Hosted by the Northville Chamber of Commerce, this event allows participants to trick-or-treat at shops and treats in downtown Northville on Main Street between Wing and Hutton streets and on Center Street between East Cady and Dunlap streets. Free.

Monster ball

8 p.m., Oct. 19: This annual celebration features DJs, circus performers, stilt walkers, tightrope walkers, acrobats, illusionists and artists performing on multiple levels and stages.

It will be held at the Russell Event Center, 1600 Clay St., in Detroit. From 21 years old. Tickets start at $22.50.

Halloween Pub Crawl in Detroit

Oct. 25, 26 and 31: Celebrate Halloween in Detroit’s Greektown and Royal Oak, where spooky drinks and spooky times await. Tickets start at $25.

The haunted Scream Machine attraction

Weekends until October 31st: This excursion includes a walk through Hawthorne Manor and Strach’s Lunatic Asylum. There are also two mini escape rooms to tackle. 25710 Northline Road in Taylor. Tickets start at $27.

Insane haunted attraction

Until November 2nd: Five acres of spooky fun with new scares, characters and scenes. 35560 Goddard Rd. in Romulus. Tickets start at $20.

Hush Haunted Attraction

Until November 4th: Attractions at this 40,000 square meter location include four haunted attractions with spooky secrets and three secret bars hidden in the shadows. 37550 Cherry Hill Road in Westland. Tickets start at $23.99.

Oakland County

ZooBoo

Oct. 11 and 18, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Oct. 12, 13, 19 and 20, 2 p.m. to 9 p.m: Explore the Detroit Zoo and experience festive pumpkin displays, stroller entertainment, trick-or-treat stations and other Halloween activities. The zoo is located at 8450 W. 10 Mile in Royal Oak. Admission is $25.

Erebus Haunted Attraction

Until November 2nd: Experience goosebumps and thrills as you walk through this four-story haunted attraction and experience spooky fun in the Tower of Terror.

Monday through Thursday 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday 6:00 p.m. to midnight, Saturday 7:00 p.m. to midnight, Sunday 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at 18 South Perry St. in Pontiac . Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased on site or at Erebus Haunted Attraction.

HallowGlow TreeRunner

Friday-Sunday until November 17th: Colored LED lights and music create a unique and exciting nighttime climbing experience. During the Glow Nights, participants can climb through the treetop courses surrounded by bright colors and a festive atmosphere.

HallowGlow takes place on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Treerunner Adventure Park is located at 6200 Drake Rd. in West Bloomfield Township. Tickets start at $59.

Azre Chamber of Secrets

Until November 2nd: In this multi-story maze haunted house, each chamber is more threatening than the last. A new horror lurks around every corner. 31401 John R Road in Madison Heights. General admission is $35.

Macomb County

Enchanted weekends in Blake’s Big Apple

6 p.m. – 11 p.m. until October 29th (Friday, Saturday and Sunday): Haunted attractions in Blake’s Big Apple include zombie paintball, a haunted barn, a spooky 3D maze, a haunted hayride and more. 71485 North Ave. in Armada. Advance tickets are required. Tickets start at $17.95.

“Tunnel of Terror” car wash.

Fridays until October 27th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.: Halloween characters can be seen in the car wash before your vehicle is washed in Clean View Auto Washes’ foggy Halloween wash tunnel. After washing, take photos with figures at the vacuum cleaner places. $17.
