Victims disarm and attack armed robber during an early morning Paterson incident

Several would-be victims turned the tables on an armed suspect during an attempted robbery early Friday morning in Paterson.

The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. near the intersection of Oak and Pennington Streets.

According to preliminary information, the armed suspect approached several people and attempted to rob them.

In a dramatic twist, the victims fought back and managed to snatch the gun from the attacker. They reportedly punched, kicked and punched the suspect during the altercation, causing him to sustain injuries.

The suspect managed to flee the scene in a dark sedan.

The police are now looking not only for the suspect, but also for the victims who left the crime scene with the weapon they took from the attacker.

The extent of the suspect’s injuries has not been confirmed and the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Paterson police.
