Police say pedestrian is killed in hit-and-run crash in North Jersey

A man died Friday evening in Midland Park after he was struck by a car that fled the scene, investigators said.

The unidentified pedestrian was struck at the intersection of Godwin Avenue and Witte Drive around 7 p.m., according to a joint statement from the Midland Park Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

He was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he later died, police said.

No further information was released late Friday evening and no description of the vehicle that hit the man was provided.
