Eminem’s Daughter Hailie Jade Reveals the Gender of Her Unborn Child – NBC Los Angeles

Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade Mathers has revealed the gender of her baby and shared the heartwarming story of how she told her famous father.

On the Oct. 11 episode of her podcast “Just A Little Shady,” the 28-year-old and her husband Evan McClintock recalled revealing the baby’s gender to Eminem. Mathers shared how she made sure to be careful while sharing the news with her father.

“We gave my dad a jersey with ‘Grandpa’ written on the back and it worked out perfectly,” she explained, adding that he was a little confused at first by the news.

“He was worried at first because he said, ‘Well, I didn’t give you a gift,'” she explained. “And freaked out for a few minutes. He was like, ‘We should get each other presents?’ I say, ‘No, no, it’s just for football season.'”

When it came time to open his gift, the rapper got confused again. According to Mathers, when he saw the word “Grandpa,” he thought he was being called old. It wasn’t until he was shown an ultrasound picture that the whole thing came together.

“I pulled out the ultrasound and he said, ‘Wait a minute, this is real. That’s kind of what happens.”

The couple revealed the gender of their baby during the podcast episode by popping a gold balloon during the podcast.

“It’s a boy!” said Mathers after the blue confetti rained down from the balloon.

The video of Eminem receiving the grandpa jersey was featured in the rapper’s new music video “Temporary” earlier this month.

Mathers and McClintock married last May.
