Bengaluru man fired after acid threat against woman over choice of dress

A man in Bengaluru, Nikith Shetty, was fired from his job after he threatened to leave acid attacked a woman for her choice of clothing in a social media post. The incident came to light when the woman’s husband, journalist Shahbaz Ansar, filed a complaint and posted a screenshot of the threat to his wife, an influencer, on Instagram.

Shahbaz tweeted tagging Karnataka DGP and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and demanding immediate action to prevent any incident. Following the complaint, Etios Digital Services, which employed Nikith, immediately fired him and expressed its disapproval of his behavior, saying it was “deeply saddened” by the incident.

The company also mentioned that a lawsuit had been filed against Nikith to ensure accountability for his actions. In a follow-up tweet, Shahbaz announced the termination and thanked everyone involved for their support.
