WEST SACRAMENTO — A West Sacramento man was recently sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for stabbing and killing another man with a sword in 2022, prosecutors said Friday.

Jeffrey Lee, 39, was sentenced Oct. 4, 2024, the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office said. Lee was previously convicted of second-degree murder in the April 5, 2022, death of 28-year-old Jack Knox of West Sacramento.

Lee stabbed Knox in the heart after a confrontation over concerns that Knox was dating Lee’s ex-girlfriend, prosecutors said.

Lee was identified as the suspect through surveillance footage from businesses in the area where the stabbing occurred.

The murder weapon – a short bladed sword – was found by investigators after Lee directed them to its location along the Sacramento River.
