Bridgeton police are investigating a fatal knife attack

Police responded to East Commerce Street between Laurel Street and Mayor Aitken Drive around 3:30 a.m. for a report of a disturbance. They found 59-year-old Wilbert Pace behind a building suffering from multiple stab wounds. Police performed life-saving measures until emergency responders arrived. Pace was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police and the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating. There had been no arrests as of Friday afternoon, police said.
