Police say one person has died in a workplace accident at a Huntersville grocery store

One person was killed in an industrial accident at a grocery store Friday morning, according to Huntersville police.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. at Lowes Foods on Boren Street.

According to MEDIC, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Channel 9 crews observed a Sun Drop truck at the store’s loading dock, which was cordoned off from the scene with crime scene tape. This area was also surrounded by several patrol cars.

Channel 9’s Almiya White spoke with Brian Vaughan of the Huntersville Police Department.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the case, but officials could not provide any information as of Friday afternoon.

Channel 9 has also reached out to USA Beverage, the local distributor for Sun Drop, and we are awaiting a response.
