NYPD school security agent arrested for threatening daughter with machete at St. Albans home: NYPD – QNS

An off-duty NYPD school security agent was arrested late last month and stationed in the 103rd Precinct in Jamaica after officers responded to a domestic violence call at her home in St. Albans.

Janet Williams, 54, of Elmira Avenue, was taken into custody Monday evening, Sept. 30, and arraigned two days later in Queens Criminal Court on a criminal complaint charging her with threatening criminal mischief endangering the welfare of a child endangered and criminal possession of weapons.

According to the charges, Williams had a confrontation with her daughter in the house and repeatedly hit the door to her daughter’s bedroom with such force that the door had two holes in it around 6:30 p.m., the complaint says. Williams entered the bedroom, pulled out a machete and pointed it at her daughter in front of the victim’s seven-month-old child. No injuries were reported, but the victim feared bodily harm, the complaint states.

Police later recovered the machete from the side of a dresser in the bedroom. Williams has been suspended without pay, according to an NYPD spokesperson.

Williams was ordered to return to court on November 25.
