Tragic suicide of a teenage girl in Ratibad: Family refuses to take part in religious ritual | Bhopal News

Bhopal: A 16-year-old girl is said to have died by suicide in her home in the city Ratibad town on Friday morning after she was denied permission to attend one religious ritual from her family.
Police said that the deceased Radhika Bundela16, lived in a farmhouse in Chapri village in Ratibad. She completed her education up to the 9th grade and stayed at home. Her father, Raja Bundela, works on the same farm. A ‘Havan’ was performed near her house on Friday morning. Radhika expressed her desire to take part in the ritual but her family members refused.
Angry and upset, she went back into the house, tied a noose around her mother’s saree and hanged herself in a scale-like structure. She was rushed to hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. The police are currently investigating the case.
