Two teenagers charged in connection with non-fatal knife attack on another teenager

WALDORF, MD. – On Oct. 9 at 2:35 p.m., officers responded to the 11200 block of St. Christopher Drive in White Plains for a report of a stabbing.

A preliminary investigation revealed that three teenagers were walking home after being dropped off from a school bus when they were approached by a group of other teenagers waiting nearby to fight them. A physical altercation broke out between the two groups, during which one of the youths stabbed another youth in the back with a pocket knife.

The injured person was flown to a hospital and treated for injuries that were later determined to be non-life-threatening. In accordance with Maryland law, a 14-year-old was charged with first-degree assault based on a juvenile complaint. A 16-year-old was charged with second-degree assault following a juvenile complaint. Both teenagers were released to their parents.
