A 19-year-old Ivanhoe man has turned himself in for the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy in Tulare County.

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — A 19-year-old man has turned himself in for the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy in Tulare County.

Deputies say Moses Gaona, of Ivanhoe, was booked into jail in connection with the Oct. 6 shooting.

The shooting happened just after 12:30 p.m. on Avenue 236.

According to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, the boy was standing outside a property after a party when a truck drove by and someone inside opened fire.

The teen suffered a blow to the stomach and was flown to a local hospital, where he is expected to be released Friday, according to officials.

According to investigators, Gaona walked into the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office headquarters days later and was eventually linked to the shooting.
