2 taken to hospital after accident, Altavista officials say

(WSET) — The Altavista Fire Company said two people were taken to the hospital after an accident Wednesday.

On Wednesday evening, Company 10 and CCPS were dispatched to US-29 SB in the area of ​​Peerman School Road for a motor vehicle accident with a possible entrapment, officials said.

According to officers, units arrived and determined it was a two-vehicle accident with severe property damage. One on the side of the road and the other in the median into a tree. Both drivers were able to free themselves and were taken to an area hospital to be treated for their injuries.

All threats were mitigated and the units returned to service. VSP is investigating the cause of the crash, officials said.
