JTFD publishes clinical program for safe driving after accident in pizzeria

JACKSON TWP., Ohio (Nes Talk 1480 WHBC) – The tragic pizzeria accident in Jackson Township recently and other recent accidents have claimed the lives of people 55 years old and older.

The township’s fire department is sponsoring an event for older drivers, for everyone else.

The Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital Driver Rehabilitation Program is designed for current and former drivers, as well as those recovering from injuries or illnesses that may have impaired their ability to drive.

The program helps licensed and unlicensed drivers gain the skills they need to safely navigate today’s fast, busy roads.

Getting Started: If you think the driver rehabilitation program might be helpful, you can refer to it yourself or
Share concerns about a family member’s driving with your doctor for a referral. Health
Insurance will usually cover the cost of the exam if it is referred by a doctor, nurse or physician
Assistant, although there may be out-of-pocket costs for the portion of the assessment that takes place behind the wheel.
Driver rehabilitation specialists have a background in occupational therapy and specialized training in the field
Driving rehabilitation.
